Pamela Hayden provided the voices of Milhouse, Jimbo Jones and dozens of other characters on the Fox series.
Pamela Haydenwho voiced Bart’s friend, Milhouse Van Houten (and dozens of other characters) for the last 35 years, will leave The Simpsons. Hayden has been credited in nearly 700 of the Yellow Family series’ 774 episodes to date.
In addition to Milhouse, Hayden has lent his voice to Jimbo Jones, Rod Flanders (and occasionally his brother Todd), Stacy MalibuLisa’s classmate, Janeyand many other recurring and one-off characters.

“The time has come to hang up the microphone, but how do I say goodbye to The Simpsons? It’s not easy”Hayden said in a statement. “It has been an honor and a joy to have worked on such a fun, inventive and innovative show… I will always have a special place in my heart for that 10-year-old boy with blue hair and glasses.”
Milhouse first appeared in a Butterfinger advertisement in 1989, when The Simpsons was still a series of shorts in The Tracey Ullman Showand has been a part of the series since its first episode, “The Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire.”
“Pamela’s talent, her joy and her love for her characters have given The Simpsons a magic that will never be forgotten,” said the showrunner and executive producer. Matt Selman. “Everything is going well, Pamela!”
Matt Groeningcreator of The Simpsons, added: “Pamela made us laugh so hard with Milhouse, the hapless boy with the biggest nose in Springfield. She made Milhouse hilarious and real, and she will be missed”. The executive producer James L. Brooks said: “She is a role model of great spirit for every cast she has been a part of. “We will miss her.”
The Simpsons will begin casting for Hayden’s characters in the near future.
