How heavy are clouds actually? Why doesn’t the glue in the tube stick? How much electricity does an electric car need? And how big does a snowflake actually get? These and many other questions are asked and answered in the new podcast “You, Leo?” In this podcast project the Children’s News in cooperation with the Open Cultural Association Wels (OKV) Children and young people are the main actors. You can put the expert to the test – and in the process awaken the young listeners’ interest in scientific topics.
The children’s creative questions are posed Leo Ludickformer professor of chemistry, mathematics and physics. “Children experience the world by asking questions. You know these constant why questions. This shows that humans are inquisitive creatures. And that’s why it’s so important, especially in the natural sciences, to inspire children and to preserve this childlike curiosity for themselves,” says Ludick, who has also explained more than 500 everyday puzzles as a columnist in the weekend supplement of the OÖNachrichten.
