The clues that the accused had given before being discovered

Dominique Pelicot was a man respected in his environment and who was not suspected of committing the atrocities for which he is accused. However, throughout the case some clues were discovered that could have discovered who he really was.

The first investigations revealed a man with aggressive sexual behavior and various cases of abuse or harassment against him. Authorities discovered that the man has already been accused of rape, twice, and also of murder.

First of all, Dominique was charged by the rape and murder of Sophie Narme23 years old, an event that took place in 1991. After being arrested following a complaint from his partner, the man strongly denied the accusations presented by the unsolved case unit.

“These are accusations based solely on conjecture,” denounced his lawyer, Béatrice Zavarro. However, after this first episode, the attacker was also charged with an attempted rape in Seine-et-Marne which happened in 1999.

In this second case, the Justice was able to find DNA of Dominique on the scene. Faced with this discovery, the man acknowledged the facts, although he denied to the investigators that he had used a weapon to carry out the attack.

One of the first experts to testify was the psychologist Marianne Douteau, who focused on the “angry” character of the attacker. “Mr. Pélicot’s sexuality reflects his personality: he is ordinary in public, but within her relationship she is obsessiveas in matters such as partner exchange, to which his wife was opposed and whose lack he compensated with the use of pornographic forums,” he stated.

Suspicions about previous crimes only appeared when the police began investigating the case on September 2, 2020. At that time, the accused was surprised by the authorities filming up the skirts of several women with his phone in a supermarket

This was not the first time Dominique displayed this behavior. Previously, on July 31, 2010, in another shopping center, the man was also arrested for similar acts using a camera hidden in a pen. After this, the aggressor He pleaded guilty and paid a fine of no more than 100 euros.
