The Customs Collection and Control Agency (ARCA) may request the data of those users who make purchases through the use of virtual wallets such as Mercado Pago with amounts that exceed $400,000.

The Customs Collection and Control Agency (ARK) could request extra information from users who make purchases with high amounts through the use of virtual wallets as Payment Market.

These regulations of the tax agency were established in order to promote better control of the origin of user funds and ensure the transparency of the tax system is promoted.

The rule has been in force since May 2024 when the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) was in force but which is now supported by the ARCA.

Applies to everyone consumptions paid with debit cards in the name of the account holder and additional ones, with an amount greater than $400,000.

The Information Regime explains that “all virtual wallets must inform the state agency of the personal data of all individuals who make these movements.”

The information that must be delivered to ARCA: account number, CVU and number of members and identification of those involved in the aforementioned accounts.

This communication is the responsibility of the payment platform provider and will be carried out automatically without the need for individual intervention.

The last update of the amounts was in May, when the amount was raised from $120,000 to $400,000.
