80 percent of the companies are affected: The WKOÖ presented a proposal to reduce the number of long-term unemployed: There are around 39,000 unemployed in Upper Austria, around a third with health placement restrictions. Currently there would only be the options “able to work” or “unable to work”.
The proposal looks like this: The reintegration part-time is intended for people who have health problems and have been unemployed for at least three months, said Leonhard Zauner, a consultant in the social and legal policy department. After a trial, there should be a gradual reintegration into the first job market for them over a maximum of 24 months.
The worker would receive a salary and a redeployment benefit. If it is possible to reintegrate 5,000 unemployed people for 20 hours a week, an additional potential workforce of 2,500 full-time equivalent jobs could be developed.
