Three participants in the rally of entrepreneurs, as well as 18 law enforcement officers, were injured during clashes near the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. This was reported on Tuesday, January 25, on the website of the national police of the country.
“The protesters did not react to the repeated demands of the police officers to stop their actions. In order to restore law and order, the police immediately intervened and pushed them back – 18 police officers and three protesters received injuries of varying severity, ”the message says.
The protesters, who resisted the legitimate demands of the security forces, were taken to the Pechersk Police Department. Two criminal cases have been initiated into the clashes.
Earlier that day, Ukrainian entrepreneurs marched through the central streets of Kiev. They demanded to simplify the system of using cash registers, as well as to amend the Tax Code.
Later there was a scuffle between entrepreneurs and the police at the Verkhovna Rada. The protesters also attempted to enter the building of the Ukrainian parliament, but the security forces pushed them back. The protesters continued to use smoke bombs and gas cartridges.
The police of Ukraine detained 20 protesters who attempted to storm the building of the Verkhovna Rada. The security forces searched the protesters, then put them in a police bus and took them away in an unknown direction. Currently, the protesters are again making attempts to break into the Rada.
