It was 7:30 p.m. when a supervisor at a psychosocial support facility in Niederwaldkirchen (Rohrbach district) was getting nervous. A 30-year-old resident from Salzburg went for a walk late Monday afternoon and never came back. The supervisor alerted the police, and the officials, with the support of several fire brigades, began a large-scale search operation.
head injuries and wounds
In the middle of the night, it was 2.45 a.m., when the search teams finally made a sad discovery: the missing man from Salzburg was dead in the Pesenbach. His body had head injuries and numerous abrasions. Unfortunately, the emergency doctor who was called was unable to do anything for the man.
It has not yet been fully clarified how the fatal outcome of the walk could have come about. The most likely theory is currently an accident. An autopsy was ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
