The analysis arises from a report prepared by Jobint, which analyzed salary demands in the countries of the region. This variation led by Argentina presented a increase of 74.98% measured in official dollar and 126.55% in MEP dollar. During 2024, according to the analysis, Argentina registered the largest increase in salary claims both in official dollar and in MEP.


Regional analysis: how salaries are
Panama and Ecuador stand out as the countries with the greatest salary stability since January 2021while Argentina faced a sharp drop in wages towards the end of 2023 and beginning of 2024. When measured in official dollars, salaries grew by just 1.62%, ranking among the lowest in the region. In contrast, other countries showed more moderate variations: Chile (6.84%), Peru (5.57%), Panama (2.97%) and Ecuador (0.28%).
“From 2020 to today, Argentina has recorded the largest fluctuations in requested salaries, both in MEP dollars and in official dollars,” the report states. “Argentina has experienced a significant transformation, going from occupying the last positions at the regional level to standing out in salary rankings,” concludes Federico Barni, CEO of Jobint.
