A bishop from Hugo Moyano joins the leadership of the CGT

The General Confederation of Labor (CGT) announced the incorporation of the trucker leader Octavio Arguello as the new secretary general, a position that until weeks ago he held Pablo Moyanowho made the decision to leave the organism due to differences with driving.

Through a statement, the CGT announced the arrival of Argüello, a man most trusted by the historic Hugo Moyano, who will begin to have a greater participation inside the center that brings together numerous unions.

In this way, the union member of the National Truckers Federation will occupy a chair next to Hector Daer and Carlos Acuñathe current holders of the CGT.

Argüello’s landing was sealed during a meeting that Daer and Acuña held with Hugo Moyano. At the conclave, the former head of the union confederation agreed to join the small table, although he proposed his bishop to occupy an institutional position.

In addition to leading the Tres de Febrero and San Martín de Camioneros section, Argüello was the owner of the Culture, Education and Work (CET) party. It should be remembered that Pablo Moyano, Hugo’s son, left the headquarters after expressing differences with the leadership due to the CGT’s refusal to call a general strike against Javier Milei’s policies.

Days ago, the resigning leader assured that “we are facing an economic model that is causing a lot of harm to the vast majority of the Argentine people and that generated the need to come together. If we do not understand what is happening, what happened in these 11 months, we didn’t understand anything,” said the union leader.

In that sense, the Camioneros representative stated: “How did this guy (Milei) emerge from nowhere, which was a media construction, “Why not dream that a worker, black or black, reaches the government?”

“Beyond the differences we may have, the union leaders are not going to betray the workers and that is the anger that exists among a large part of the labor movement. I hope that in the next stage there will be more leaders, workers in Congress so that what happened in these months does not happen,” Moyano stressed on the streaming channel EVA TV.

Moyano asked “to put aside the differences that exist because next year in the legislative elections “They are going to come for what we have left.”

“Today the important thing is to build an alternative so that people believe in Peronism again. I hope that this reorganization serves to expand and that there is a call to all sectors to build a serious alternative,” the union leader insisted.
