Vaccination bonus: 13 municipalities “qualified”

Vaccination bonus: 13 municipalities “qualified”

The details are still being negotiated. Currently, 13 out of 438 municipalities in Upper Austria would “qualify” for this, as municipal councilor Michaela Langer-Weninger and municipal association president Johann Hingsamer (both VP) explained on Wednesday. Goldwörth, Puchenau and Kirchberg-Thening are furthest ahead. Hingsamer admitted that there are significantly more such municipalities in other federal states. Langer-Weninger wants to increase the quotas with education and information.

According to Hingsamer, the fact that the municipalities have been issuing living room tests since this week increases the burden because there are currently around 35 referendums running.

The reason for the press conference was the federal government’s municipal package. Upper Austria’s municipalities will receive around 91 million euros from 2022 to 2025 thanks to an increase in revenue shares and relief from the tax reform. According to Langer-Weninger, an investment standstill is being prevented. According to Hingsamer, it could always be more, but the consequences of the crisis would be dampened.
