Compulsory vaccinations will come into force next Tuesday. Then all those who have not been vaccinated by March 15 at the latest must expect penalties. Unless you are one of those groups of people who are legally exempt from this for medical reasons, among other things.
However, it is still unclear which doctors in Upper Austria will issue these vaccination exemptions in the future.
Because the corresponding federal ordinance on the Covid 19 vaccination law must first be awaited, the state’s crisis team said at the request of OÖN. This is intended to define the “specific requirements for the issuance of vaccination exemption certificates”. And it is currently still unclear when this regulation will be available.
However, it is planned that such vaccination exemption certificates should be issued by technically suitable hospital outpatient departments as well as by public health officers and epidemic doctors.
There will be exceptions to the vaccination requirement for pregnant women and those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons, as well as for those who have recovered (up to six months after recovery).
According to the crisis team, permanent reasons for exemption from vaccination should “only affect a very small group”. A corresponding medical decision will have to be made by the treating physicians, it said.
