In the last few hours, the Rio de Janeiro Justice Department identified four suspects in the attack on Argentine Gastón Burlón. However, the judge on duty Orlando Eliazaro Feitosa did not rule on the arrests of the accused.

While the former Bariloche Tourism official Gastón Burlón remains hospitalized in serious condition, the Justice of Rio de Janeiro managed to identify four suspects in the attack with firearm shots. However, the judge following the case decided not to arrest them due to an unusual explanation.

On December 12, Burlón and his family were returning from visiting Christ the Redeemer, when the GPS led them down a wrong path that led them into one of the most dangerous favelas in Brazil.

It was there where the former Bariloche official was attacked by gunfire, receiving a shot in the head that left him in serious condition. Last Thursday night he underwent surgery and, although it was a successful surgery, he is still in a coma with a reserved prognosis at the Souza Aguiar Hospital.

Attack on former Bariloche official in Brazil: suspects identified

The judge on duty, Orlando Eliazaro Feitosawho is carrying out the investigation of the case, managed to identify four suspects in the attack.

According to what was reported by the G1 site, part of the Globo TV network, the Special Delegation for Tourism Support (DEAT) identified the suspects in the attack on BUrlón as Cláudio Augusto dos Santos, alias “Jiló”; Tiago de Oliveira, known as “TG”; Raphael Corrêa Pontes, nicknamed “De Lara”; and Sandro da Silva Vicente, called “Sandrinho”. The latter would have been identified by witnesses as the author of the shots that hit the vehicle.

Despite the seriousness of the case, Judge Feitosa did not order the arrests of the men in question, since it was not an urgent situation. The Public Ministry also considered that the measure was not immediately necessary.

“Despite the seriousness of the facts, this circumstance alone does not justify the intervention of this Court on duty, so the case can be evaluated by the Natural Court,” explained the magistrate.
