The police stopped the 46-year-old Kosovar at around 3 p.m. on Adalbert Stifterstrasse in the municipality of Pasching (Linz-Land district). When checking the documents, it turned out that the man was banned from staying in Austria. In addition, the driver made a drug-impaired impression.
With “breakneck speed” through Langholzfeld
After the police asked him to get out of the car several times, he suddenly started the car, stepped on the gas and drove away in the direction of PlusCity. He touched an officer’s knee and tore him – who still had his hand on the door handle – a few meters.
Pursued by the police patrol, the man fled at a “breakneck speed” through the 30 km/h zone of the Langholzfeld settlement area, as the police announced in the evening. Due to the wild driving style, he endangered several passers-by and vehicle drivers.
Police officer injured by kicks
The man got out of his car near PlusCity and fled on foot. Several police patrols were ultimately able to place the 46-year-old on Transdanubiastrasse. During his arrest, he injured another police officer with kicks.
The medical officer determined that he was impaired by addictive substances, and the man had to give up his driver’s license. After consultation with the Linz public prosecutor’s office, the arrested person was taken to the Linz prison.
