During a police check on Tuesday, a 46-year-old Kosovar freaked out. The reason: the man is banned from staying in Austria. He tried to flee, not only injuring two police officers, but also endangering several passers-by.
It was around 3 p.m. when the police stopped the driver of the car in Pasching during a routine traffic check. The 46-year-old, whose wife was in the passenger seat, stopped. However, when the officials became aware of the ban and asked the man several times to get out of his car, the Kosovar suddenly stepped on the gas and drove away in the direction of Plus City.
Officer was taken along
He brushed the car with a controlling officer on the knee. The policeman still had his hand on the door handle. He was pulled by the car and was only able to release his grip after running a few meters. The patrol immediately took up the pursuit of the fugitive. The Kosovar fled at breakneck speed through the 30 km/h zone of the Langholzfeld settlement area, endangering several passers-by.
He parked the car near Plus-City and initially fled on foot. Several police patrols were able to find and arrest him a little later. However, he tried to prevent this with violence. He fought back violently, kicked a policeman and injured him. An examination by the medical officer revealed that the man had taken cocaine. He was taken to Linz Prison.
