According to police reports, eyewitnesses observed a man driving in the wrong direction on Friday night on a street in the Tribeca district and crashing into Swift’s house. He then got out and tried unsuccessfully to gain access to the building.
The 31-year-old from the state of Virginia was taken to a hospital for examination, according to police. He is charged with drink driving. The police did not confirm reports of hostile remarks by the man about Swift.
Swift, 32, has had multiple problems with intruders: Most recently, last April, police arrested a suspected stalker who tried to break into the pop star’s New York apartment. In July 2019, a man with burglary tools was arrested near a house in the state of Rhode Island.
In March 2019, a persistent stalker of the singer was arrested after a break-in at her New York apartment. The man had already broken into Swift’s house the year before.
