Because Chancellor Minister Karoline Edtstadler (ÖVP) had asked Tiktok users to be vaccinated at the seat of government. The so-called “key date” was supported by Vienna’s City Councilor for Health Peter Hacker (SPÖ), who also paid a visit to the campaign.
The initiative had its origins in a rather slippery post by a user towards Edtstadler, who then invited him to the chancellery for vaccination. However, the young man lost his courage, but other users showed their interest in immunization at Ballhausplatz. Edtstadler thus stamped out an action aimed primarily at the young audience, the hacker asked for support agreed in “milliseconds”.
The duo then chatted for a few minutes with both the staff and the vaccinates and assessed the campaign as positive through and through. Anyone who picked up their stitch also got a donut as a reward – with an integrated syringe.
