Trump spoke about the importance of protecting the US border ahead of the borders of European countries

United States President Joe Biden should send soldiers to protect the border from illegal migrants, not to Eastern Europe. This statement was made by former President Donald Trump on Saturday, January 29.

“Before our leaders talk about invading other countries, they need to stop the invasion of our country… Before Joe Biden sends any troops to protect the borders in Eastern Europe, he must send the military to protect our border here in Texas,” – he said at a rally of his supporters in the Texas city of Conroe, broadcasted by the Fox News channel.

Thus, Trump reacted to Biden’s statement about the imminent dispatch of a small contingent of US troops to the Eastern European countries that are members of NATO.

“They are sending young Americans to fight and die across the frontiers of distant foreign powers while throwing our own frontiers wide open to illegal foreign invasion. We are fighting for foreign borders, but not for our own,” the ex-president said.

He added that during the year of Biden’s rule in the United States, 5 million people illegally entered through the southern border.

“Now the whole planet is invading through it, as if America was defeated on the battlefield,” the former American president was indignant.

On January 26, Trump said that the US administration’s plans to possibly send US troops to Europe against the backdrop of the situation around Ukraine are crazy. According to him, during his tenure in power this would not have happened.

On January 24, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said that the US Department of Defense put 8,500 troops on high alert in case they were transferred to Europe. On the same day, the intention to strengthen the eastern wing of the alliance in Europe was confirmed in the White House. At the briefing, press secretary Jen Psaki recalled that the United States has always spoken about its readiness to strengthen the eastern flank of NATO.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier in the day that US and NATO actions were leading to an escalation of tensions in Ukraine. He pointed out that it “is carried out through information actions and concrete actions that the US and NATO are taking.”
