The PUAM of the National Social Security Administration (ANSES) It is an economic benefit equivalent to 80% of the minimum retirement income, which is adjusted quarterly according to the pension mobility index. Unlike traditional retirements, this pension does not require having made pension contributions, since it is intended for those who were not able to make the necessary years of contributions to the system.
Besides, PUAM includes complementary benefitsas comprehensive medical coverage through the PAMI (Comprehensive Medical Care Program). This ensures that older people have access to essential medicines, treatments and medical services.

Who can access the ANSES PUAM
The following groups that meet the requirements can access the ANSES PUAM: these requirements:
- Be at least 65 years old.
- Have a minimum residence of 10 continuous years in the country if they are Argentine or naturalized, or 20 years if they are foreigners.
- Not collect or be entitled to any retirement, pension or unemployment insurance.
- Maintain residency in Argentina after requesting the benefit.
PUAM amount in January 2025
In January 2025, the amount of the PUAM was set at $282,725.61 which is 80% of the minimum retirement. This amount includes the 2.4% increase determined by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of November 2024 and the extraordinary bonus of $70,000 that the government decided to continue delivering it to people in vulnerable situations.
