Brady wants to announce his retirement himself

Teammates and even his own company joined in the swan song of the 22-year professional career in American football – but only for two hours. Because then reports appeared that the 44-year-old had not yet made the decision to resign.

Brady’s father called the reports “total conjecture”: “Tommy hasn’t made a final decision one way or the other and anyone who says otherwise is wrong.” Sporting reasons would speak for a sequel: The oldest player in the NFL is still one of the best in his guild.

The children decide

However, after the play-off defeat against the Los Angeles Rams, Brady said for the first time that it was no longer just about him. “My kids aren’t getting any younger and I want to make sure they’re getting what they need.” Perhaps the vehement backtracking is because Brady wants full control over his retirement – just as he has throughout his career with seven Super Bowl triumphs, six with New England and one with Tampa Bay. Brady’s agent Don Yee also suggested this: “Tom will be the only one who expresses his plans.”
