Expired vaccination status also affects ski passes: appeal for new registrations

As is well known, the validity of vaccination certificates will change in Austria on February 1st: For people who have been vaccinated twice or who have recovered with one vaccination, the Green Passport is only valid for six months from the last vaccination received from this point in time. For people who have received a third vaccination, it is valid for nine months from the third vaccination

These changes also have an impact on ski passes – because 2G is also currently in force in the ski areas. Lift operators from Vorarlberg and Tyrol have therefore called on season pass holders to register again. “For data protection reasons, ski areas are not allowed to save, as ever

man and is vaccinated,” explains Vorarlberg’s cable car spokesman Andreas Gapp.

Therefore, those skiers whose Green Pass is still valid would also have to register again. Ideally, activation can take place online. Yesterday, lift operators from several federal states appealed to ski pass holders to take advantage of this opportunity and to take care of the extension in advance.

270,000 ski passes affected

According to the ticket system provider Skidata, which is also well represented in ski areas in Salzburg and Upper Austria, up to 270,000 ski passes registered in Austria could be affected by the shortened validity of the green pass.
