Felipe VI will be visiting Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen in the Hofburg at 1 p.m. and opening the Dali exhibition in the Belvedere with his wife Letizia in the late afternoon.
Fans are probably already curious what clothes the queen will wear at the dates, after all, the willowy monarch is one of the best-dressed royals in Europe. Her weight always gave rise to speculation – especially at the beginning of their marriage, many feared that the independent woman would be heartbroken in the palace.
What a love story!
The way there was anything but mapped out for the 49-year-old today: the former TV journalist met the crown prince during an interview, and many Spaniards were initially not very enthusiastic about the already divorced woman.

But Felipe prevailed – and, despite all objections and resistance, led his bourgeois “Leti” down the aisle on May 22, 2004. Today there is no trace of the initial skepticism – Felipe and Letizia are a dream couple for many and have two beautiful daughters: 16-year-old Leonor and 14-year-old Sofia.
Many Spaniards believe that the relationship with Letizia has changed Felipe positively. Once stiff and shy, he now seems much more relaxed and confident.
In 2014 he succeeded his father to the throne. In addition to numerous affairs, Juan Carlos was criticized above all for a controversial elephant hunt in Botswana in the middle of the financial crisis – and finally resigned.
Felipe, who incidentally celebrated his 54th birthday yesterday, made it clear from the start that he wanted to be a modern monarch. And he seems to be that too as a husband and father. The law graduate is known to be conscientious and level-headed, without airs and scandals
And even though he’s the king of Spain, he’s apparently trying to lead a relatively “normal” life with his family. It is said that Felipe also likes to go to the pizzeria around the corner or to the cinema with his wife – and he is a passionate football fan and avowed supporter of the Spanish club Atletico Madrid.
