It was around 7 a.m. when the member of the Steinbach Volunteer Fire Department drove to work in his car on Weißenbachtalstrasse. Suddenly the man noticed that a car had broken down on its roof next to the road. The driver of the vehicle was injured and trapped in the wreckage. The firefighter immediately stopped his car, alerted the rescue team and freed the slightly injured man from the accident car.
The Mitterweißenbach, Pfandl, Steinbach am Attersee fire departments and the Bad Ischl main fire station responded to the scene. Paramedics from the Bad Ischl Red Cross treated the injured man and took him to the Salzkammergut Clinic. The firefighters recovered the Mercedes, which was then transported away by a towing company.
