Ukraine is pulling heavy weapons and equipment to the Donbass in secret from the observers of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM). This statement was made by the head of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) Leonid Pasechnik on Monday, January 31.
“Our services and international observers see that there is an active movement from the Ukrainian side. There is the supply of ammunition and fuel and lubricants, heavy weapons are moving and equipment is being prepared. Even traditionally, “not all seeing” OSCE SMM recorded over the past month the transfer of more than a hundred units of heavy cannon artillery – howitzers and self-propelled guns, ”he told RIA Novosti.
The head of the republic noted that the OSCE SMM reports every day that their drones monitoring the situation in Donbass are being jammed.
“On the other side, EW installations (electronic warfare) are actively operating. All this clearly shows that Ukraine is trying to hide the movement of its troops and equipment from observers, depriving them of the opportunity to see the situation from the air, ”Leonid Pasechnik said.
On January 30, the people’s militia of the LPR announced that the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had arrived in the area of the village of Novoluganskoye, located near the line of contact.
On January 28, the head of the People’s Militia Department of the LPR, Colonel Yan Leshchenko, said that flights of reconnaissance aircraft from the United States and Great Britain are regularly recorded over Ukraine, but the activity of Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has decreased.
On January 24, the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, said that Kiev was preparing an offensive in the Donbass, pulling up artillery and tanks to the line of contact.
