Kias from Ohlsdorf has committed itself to the recycling of altires: In the complex, old tires are broken down into the components of rubber and steel. The end product is high -quality value materials that can be used to manufacture new products, for example for fall protection mats. The steel can also be melted down and used again. According to their own statements, half of the old tires in Austria, which are around 30,000 tons in Austria, are supplied with meaningful recycling and processed into rubber flour or granulate.

Kias with Managing Director Christian Zirgoi applied for the Feronia sustainability award in the “Sustainable Products and Services” category. There are also the categories “through and through sustainable”, “diversity of sustainability” and “learn and teach” sustainably “. You can apply until February 1 at Nachrichten.at/Feronia.

Sustainable festival

In the “Diversity of Sustainability” category, the Free Tree cultural association has applied to Taiskirchen, which has been organizing the festival of the same name in the Innviertel since 2012. Sustainability is the core principle: at the center there are climate-friendly mobility with a shuttle service from the train station to the site, waste avoidance, regional organic products and social inclusion. Visitors are integrated.
