Zelensky’s party will expel the MP who tried to hide the accident

The party of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky “Servant of the People” will consider the issue of expelling MP Oleksandr Trukhin from its ranks for trying to hide an accident in the summer of 2021. This was announced on February 1 by the head of the political force David Arakhamia.

“Me and my colleagues are ashamed of the behavior of Alexander Trukhin. This is definitely not what we went to the polls with and what the people who voted for us expect from us. I believe that Alexander Trukhin has no place either in the faction or in the Servant of the People party, – follows from the statement of Arakhamia.

He called on the deputy to leave the party on his own, since otherwise he would be expelled by a decision to be made after a quorum vote.

In addition, Arakhamia advised Trukhin to provide full cooperation to the investigation in the case of the accident.

On Tuesday evening, the Ukrayinska Pravda publication published a video from the chest cameras of patrol police during an accident involving Deputy Trukhin. On it, the parliamentarian offers the police to let him go “quietly into the woods” from the scene of the accident in exchange for “gratitude”.

In August 2021, a number of Ukrainian media reported that a deputy from the ruling party, while intoxicated, provoked an accident on the road from Poltava to Kiev, six people were injured in the accident, including the head of the committee of referees of the Ukrainian Football Association Luciano Luci and his assistant.
