As of Tuesday, 314 employees and 137 residents in 104 homes had tested positive for Covid-19. As a precautionary measure, initial contacts were made to bring retired nurses back.
Personnel bottlenecks could still be compensated for by employees from different homes helping out across carrier and district borders, according to the office of the responsible state councilor Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer (ÖVP). In addition, mobile workers could also be used for inpatient care. At the moment, however, the facilities have some leeway, which Hattmannsdorfer also attributes to the progress in vaccination.
In November, the rate for staff was just over 63 percent. The State Council then issued an order to the employers for mandatory vaccination talks for their employees with the doctor. These have now been carried out. And the education is having an effect, the rate has been raised to 75 percent. He expects a further increase due to the compulsory vaccination.
The willingness of the residents to be vaccinated was higher from the start. In the meantime, 86.7 percent of them have already been boosted and 1.4 percent of those who were not vaccinated have recovered from an illness. The proportion of 88.1 percent immunized is therefore equivalent to a herd immunization, said the state councilor.
