No record, but almost 40,000 new infections in Austria

A week ago there were 34,011 new infections. The absolute high was on January 27 with 43,053 new infections, but there were over 6,000 late reports in Vienna. The proportion of people with a valid vaccination certificate fell from 72.6 percent to 68.6 percent.

The fact that the proportion of people who have a valid vaccination certificate has been reduced by four percentage points is due to the fact that the validity of the corona vaccination was reduced from nine to six months after the second stitch. Many did not get a booster, which is why 355,866 people are now without a valid vaccination certificate. On Monday, 6,482,618 people still had a valid vaccination certificate, at the turn of the month there were only 6,126,752 people on Tuesday.

35,747 vaccinations were carried out on Tuesday. 1,880 were first stitches, 5,172 second stitches and most third stitches. At 80.27 percent, or 28,695 vaccinations, they made up the largest proportion of the immunizations administered on Tuesday.

increase in normal stations

There was also the most significant increase of 10,451 new infections. On January 27, this 24-hour value was higher with 14,711 cases, but there were late reports in the federal capital on that day. The seven-day incidence is also high in Vorarlberg at 2,909.3, in Salzburg at 2,782.4 and in Tyrol at 2,742. This is followed by Upper Austria (2,619.1), Styria (2,538.2), Carinthia (2,318.8), Lower Austria (2,215.2) and Burgenland (1,956.4). 316,516 people in Austria are currently suffering from an infection, 9,304 more than the day before.
