The German prevailed on Sunday in the final 12.5 km cross-country skiing competition in the target sprint in front of the Norwegians Jarl Magnus Riiber and Jens Luraas Frequer. Johannes Lamparter tore off shortly before the finish and finished fifth. The victory also went to Germany for women. Nathalie Armbruster grabbed the first triple, Claudia Purker was the ÖSV best 13.
“A little disappointing”
Record World Cup winner Riiber went into the cross-country ski with a lead of half a minute. The Finn Ilkka Herola (+39 seconds), Geiger (+41) and AUSTEBRO (+58) started later. In the fourth round, the four pursuers concluded to Riiber. From then on, Lamparter did a lot of leadership work, 700 meters before the finish he started the first attack. However, this backfired. The ÖSV athlete was caught up in the departure, after which the decisive grains were missing.
