The SK BMD Vorwärts Steyr in the Regionalliga Mitte wanted to establish itself as the ideal springboard for young players from the region. After the red and white footballers got into acute relegation in autumn, sports director Gerald Perzy now obviously grown on the international meadows of the player brokers. Midfielder Michal Vrana (25) from the Czech Republic and the Irish striker Jimmy Mwanga (26) were hired for more punch.
“Jimmy is exactly the player type that we lacked in the attack. He is physically very strong and can secure the balls well,” says Perzy. Vrana will also revitalize the SKV’s offensive game: “He has enormous pace, sprints with more than 36 km/h and is ideal for switching moments.”
