Thief arrested on train

Officers from the Aliens and Border Police Department carried out Schengen checks on the train at around 7:30 p.m. A 48-year-old man identified himself with a Czech identity card. A so-called EKIS query (Electronic Criminal Police Information System) was positive, which is why a search of persons and luggage was carried out.

The police officers found tools worth more than 2,000 euros in his pocket. The man first denied stealing the items, but eventually admitted he stole them from a hardware store in Linz. He was arrested and taken to the Leopoldschlag police station for questioning. The stolen items were secured and the Czech was reported to the public prosecutor.
