The adjustment, which will impact the invoices of March and April, responds to the update of energy distribution and transport costs. A special bonus for popular neighborhoods will also be applied.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services of the Province of Buenos Aires approved a 2% increase in the electric distribution rate, as established in Resolution No. 67-MISPGP-2025, published Monday in the Official Gazette of the District.

The measure is based on the provincial electrical regulatory framework (Law No. 11,769), which establishes that rates must reflect the acquisition, transport and distribution costs of electricity. According to concession contracts, Tariff adjustments must contemplate variations in energy prices and transport, as well as the update of distribution costs.

The calculation of the adjustment was carried out by the Electric Power Control Agency of the Province of Buenos Aires (OCEBA) and approved by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services. The MIYSP Resolution No. 4/2025 set the new tariff pictures for the main energy distributors of the province, including Edelap, Edea, Eden and Edes, in addition to the areas of Rio de la Plata, Atlantic, North and South.

These pictures incorporate the updates of energy and transport prices approved nationwide through resolutions.in force from November 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025.

Likewise, the tax for the National Electric Power Fund (FNEE) was updated, in accordance with Resolution No. 19/2024 of the Ministry of Energy and Mining Coordination of the Nation and the MIYSP Resolution No. 1266/2024. A transitory adjustment of the Value Added of Distribution (VAD), of the Local Generation (SGL) and the tariff aggregate was also established.

Sources of the Executive Power said that, in concrete terms, a residential user N1 (high income) who paid $ 34,250 per month will pay $ 34,840 with the same consumption. In the case of an N2 user (low income), the invoice will go from $ 21,000 to $ 21,500.

The increase will begin to govern from tomorrow and will be reflected in the February consumption, impacting the invoices of March and April.

Since the province is going through an energy emergency according to Law No. 15,480, a transient update of the VAD was implemented, which enters into force the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.

In addition, the resolution introduces a special bonus for popular neighborhoods, applying a fixed discount similar to that of the current social rate. This benefit will be deducted from the total consumption registered in the community meters, in accordance with the agreements already signed or for signing.
