The young woman was initially unconscious, but had full vital signs, the police informed. The German had entered the free ski area with two other variant skiers and may have triggered the avalanche herself.

After the rescue, the 20-year-old received first aid from an emergency doctor and air rescue service from her friends, who also came from Germany, and from a group of other skiers. Then she was rescued with a rope, reloaded at the intermediate landing site near the “Schartenkogellift” valley station and finally flown to the hospital in Hall in Tirol. She has to stay in the hospital for one night for a check-up.

According to the executive, the slab of snow was 60 meters long and just as wide. It had a crack height of 1.20 meters. The three German variant drivers were all equipped with avalanche transceivers, probes and shovels.
