The FPÖ rejects the statement by Deputy Mayor Bernhard Baier (VP), according to which there were no proposals for traffic calming measures in the Neustadtviertel from the time of his predecessor Markus Hein (FP).
As reported, Hein announced the development of a traffic concept last summer, for which a public participation process was started. There is now disagreement as to what happened to the results.
While Baier insists that he didn’t see anything, FP club chairman Wolfgang Grabmayr points out that the preparatory work was completed under the then deputy mayor of Hein. The measures would await the political assessment and decision by Baier: “But that just doesn’t happen.”
Even the Greens do not like the fact that traffic calming is still a long time coming. It is incomprehensible that Baier rejects a general 30 km/h limit in the Neustadtviertel and that the traffic concept no longer seems to be an issue, said club chairman Helge Langer: “There are enough suggestions on the table that can be implemented quickly, such as the redistribution of the street space.”
