Sputnik V vaccine obtained permanent approval in Russia

Seventy-one countries have authorized its emergency use while its single-component version, Sputnik Light, has been authorized in more than 30 countries as a stand-alone vaccine and as a universal booster for other vaccines.

“Sputnik V and Sputnik Light are based on a safe and effective human adenoviral vector platform and have not been associated with unusual serious adverse events after vaccination, such as myocarditis or pericarditis,” according to the Russian news agency Sputnik.

The high levels of safety and efficacy of both drugs have been demonstrated in more than 30 studies and real-world data from more than 60 countries.

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) is Russia’s sovereign wealth fund created in 2011 to make joint equity investments, mainly in Russia, together with investors and acts as a catalyst for direct investment in the Russian economy.
