How can the visitor frequency be increased in city centers? This was discussed on Monday in the Ried Chamber of Commerce in a panel discussion. The Freedom of Upper Austria had invited to this. In addition to Ried’s Mayor Bernhard Zwielehner (ÖVP), Wolfgang Klinger (member of the state parliament and FP mayor of Gaspoltshofen), Michael Gärner (chairman of the association of Rieder Wirtschaft) and Andreas Rabl, FP Mayor from Wels, were on the podium. The explanations of Andreas Rabl were eagerly awaited. In his tenure so far since 2015, it was possible to breathe new life into Wels downtown.

It was important to emphasize the participants of the discussion round that the two cities of Ried and Wels were not comparable. “Wels has five times as many inhabitants as Ried. You shouldn’t forget that. That’s why not all of our ideas can be implemented here,” said Rabl. In his explanations, Rabl showed some important points that brought the change for Wels.
