Six people had obtained positive samples from a sick 24-year-old woman and a sick 43-year-old and had them evaluated under their own data, the police said on Saturday. With that, they came to certificates of recovery after the official segregation. The police had started investigating an anonymous report to the Vöcklabruck district authority. The suspicion of falsifying evidence against eight people was confirmed.
The incidents happened shortly before Christmas or at the beginning of the year. On December 22, a 28-year-old from the Vöcklabruck district had a throat test evaluated with a sample from his 24-year-old girlfriend. He wanted to avoid the obligation to vaccinate with the alleged illness, he justified himself. He and his girlfriend confessed during interrogation.
On January 1, four family members and an acquaintance of the 28-year-old proceeded in the same way. They gave a 43-year-old friend’s throat samples. He explained that he had passed on his saliva because the corona situation was a political puppet theater and it would be about nothing anyway, according to the police report. One of those who allegedly tested positive, a 26-year-old from the Vöcklabruck district, really fell ill with Covid-19 just under three weeks after the crime, which strengthened the suspicion against him. He is the only person involved who did not confess.
All eight people were charged with falsifying evidence. The two infected people who passed on their saliva samples are also reported to the public prosecutor’s office in Wels because of the intentional endangerment of people through communicable diseases.
