The Investigative Committee (IC) of Belarus opened a criminal case against a truck driver who hit a customs worker at a checkpoint on the Belarusian-Polish border, the woman died from her injuries. This was announced on Saturday, February 5, in the press service of the department.
It is noted that the case was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 317 (“Violation of the rules of the road, negligently resulting in the death of a person”) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
“Investigators, with the involvement of specialists from the UGKSE in the Brest region, examined the scene, interrogated the suspect and witnesses, and appointed forensic and autotechnical examinations,” the report says.
Earlier that day, at the Kozlovichi checkpoint on the Belarusian-Polish border, a truck driver knocked down a customs officer to death. The State Border Committee noted that the family of the deceased will be provided with the necessary assistance.
On February 2, in Rostov-on-Don, a six-year-old child died after being hit by a truck. The KamAZ driver lost control, drove onto the dividing lawn and knocked down a child crossing the road. He died from his injuries before the ambulance arrived.
