After an extremely dry winter, the Federal Forest is currently warning of continuing drought. The first major fire -related fire service this year was in the Mühlviertel on Friday afternoon.
The alarm entered at 2:40 p.m.: A young forest in the middle of the local area of Hirschbach was on fire. “Fortunately, we were alerted relatively quickly. Several residents and passing drivers reported the fire,” says the head of operations, commander Stefan Tröbinger from FF Hirschbach in an interview with the OÖNachrichten.

Alarm level 2 was proclaimed relatively quickly. “Between 100 and 140 emergency services from ten fire departments were quickly on site,” said Tröbinger. Due to the slope, the extinguishing work was difficult. “The affected forest was narrow, but it was very long,” says the commander.
