The Russian men’s team lost to Portugal in the final of the European Futsal Championship

In the final of the European Futsal Championship, the Russian men’s team lost to the Portuguese team (2:4). This was reported on February 6 by Sport-Express.

The Russian team led the match with a score of 2:0, goals were scored by Anton Sokolov and Andrey Afanasiev. After that, the Portuguese were able to recoup and took the lead. They scored the fourth goal into an empty net.

On February 1, the Russian mini-football team beat the Georgian team in the quarterfinals of the European Championship. The meeting was held in the Netherlands and ended with the score 3:1 in favor of the Russians. Double made Ivan Chishkala, Artem Niyazov also scored.

Bruno Petri scored a goal for the Georgian team.

In the semifinals, the Russian team beat the Ukrainian team (3:2). Ex-midfielder of the Russian national team, champion of the RPL-2016/17 in the Moscow Spartak Alexander Samedov congratulated the team on reaching the final.

The European Futsal Championship was held in the Netherlands from January 19 to February 6. All playoff matches were held in Amsterdam.

Portugal won the European Futsal Championship for the second time in a row. Russia lost the sixth final out of seven where they participated.
