The hysteria in the Western media about the situation around Ukraine suggests that a provocation is being prepared. This was announced on Monday, February 7, on the air of Channel One by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
Speaking about a recent Bloomberg publication about Ukraine, she noted that in order to publish such an article, it is necessary to go through many internal editorial filters. Everything indicates the preparation of “a part of provocative actions,” she said.
“They are clearly preparing the ground for the implementation of possible provocations,” the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry shared her opinion.
She recalled that the hysteria of the West lasts two months.
“I want to say more. Look, there are clearly plans and preparations for how this scenario, as we understand it, has already been written down. This Bloomberg false start, which gave the headline that the Russian invasion of Ukraine has already taken place, suggests that all scenarios are on the table,” the diplomat said.
According to her, this indicates the readiness of materials “for all occasions” and this does not depend on reality.
On February 6, US presidential adviser Jake Sullivan said that Russia could “invade Ukraine” at any moment, the situation is “in the window when something can happen.” According to him, the White House admits that Moscow can “annex Donbass.”
Western politicians and the media continue to spread numerous speculations about possible Russian aggression against Ukraine. The Russian side has repeatedly denied allegations of an alleged “invasion” into a neighboring country.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia is not going to start a war with Ukraine, and Western countries and the United States are “hysterically” developing the topic of a threat to Kiev from the Russian Federation instead of forcing Ukraine to comply with the Minsk agreements.
