On the last day of the transfer period, LASK signed three talents from FC Juniors Oberösterreich: attacking players Alexander Michlmayr and Dominik Weixelbraun, as well as midfielder Marco Sulzner signed with the Bundesliga club.
Born in Upper Austria, Sulzner and Michlmayr went through the LASK Juniors Upper Austria Academy and played regularly with the second division team in the fall, as did Weixelbraun, who graduated from the St. Pölten Academy. Sulzner and Weixelbraun were already at the athletes’ training camp in Belek and played in ÖFB youth selections. Michlmayr also got a taste of the preparation as a guest at LASK.
“Alex, Marco and Dominik have been able to demonstrate their talent in preparation over the past few weeks. By signing the three, we are sending a clear signal towards the future,” said sporting director Radovan Vujanovic. Introducing young local players, especially from the LASK Juniors Upper Austria Academy, is “an important part of our club philosophy”.
Wild strengthens FC Juniors OÖ
All three will continue to fight as cooperation players at FC Juniors OÖ to stay up in the 2nd division. Enrique Wild came as a reinforcement: The Swiss, who was also used in the Europa Conference League in autumn, is moving to the Paschingers on loan.
