Energie supplier Energie AG (EAG) plans to invest 600 million euros in the pumped storage power plant in Ebensee and a planned running hydropower plant in Roitham. The European Investment Bank (EIB) provides energy supplier Energie AG with a multi -million dollar financing package: As was known on Wednesday, the EIB provides an investment loan of 320 million euros for the construction of the pumped storage power plant in Ebensee. In total, a package of 400 million euros will be made available for the expansion of hydropower in Upper Austria.

The pumped storage power plant serves as a “green battery”: it should ensure security of supply by comparing fluctuations in electricity generation from wind and solar systems. It is the greatest individual investment in the history of Energie AG. The financing contracts of 320 million euros were recently signed at the EIB seat in Luxembourg.
