In view of numerous counter -protests, the neo -Nazis barely came off the spot on the Ostkreuz. The head of the meeting ended the meeting prematurely, the police said on the X platform. According to their own information, the police were used with around 1,500 forces to separate both camps.
According to the police, around 850 people and thus significantly more than last with these demos took part in the march. Under the title “for law and order. Against left -wing extremism and politically motivated violence” had been mobilized nationwide. The organizer had previously spoken of 1,200 participants.
Several thousand people protested loudly against the neo-Nazi demo. The police spoke of significantly more than 2,000 demonstrators, but among 5,000 people. According to the police, there were 15 counter -protests on the planned route of the elevator in Friedrichshain, sometimes hundreds of people blocked the street.
Numerous arrests
There were always wrangling, the mood was partly heated. According to a police spokeswoman, demonstrators from the left warehouse tried to break through a barrier. Police officers therefore also used pepper spray. Some people were temporarily arrested.
After numbers from the evening (6.30 p.m.) there were around 100 arrests. The police want to give details on Sunday. Several people did not stick to the masking ban, it said.
Three participants were excluded from the neo-Nazi march, as police spokesman Florian Nath announced on the X platform. A judge has confirmed a so -called underbinding custody. The affected people had previously been arrested due to the showing of symbols of unconstitutional organizations. For example, a man showed a Hitler salute.
Third demonstration within a few months
It has already been the third demonstration of right -wing extremists under the same title “for law and order. Against left -wing extremism and politically motivated violence”. A month ago, about 150 neo -Nazis took part in the elevator, in December it was just around 60 participants.
