At Türkgücü Munich the nerves are on edge. The focus is on ex-Ried trainer Andreas Heraf: Although at least a small success was celebrated in the 1-1 draw in Osnabrück last weekend, the neo-coach of the German third division club is constantly confronted with new interference.
Rumors are currently circulating that the 54-year-old is said to have led a training session in January despite positive corona tests. “Absolute nonsense,” as the Austrian assures. Although he had headaches and gastrointestinal problems after returning from the training camp, several tests were negative. “I was then at the training ground at a little distance, but not in the dressing room, because I wanted to play it safe because of my gastrointestinal problems,” he told the Bild newspaper.
Curious: The rumors are said to have been spread by dissatisfied players in his club. “I’ve seen a lot, but what? This is character assassination. The player or the group of players plays with fire,” Heraf announces consequences.
Club does not come to rest
At the beginning of the year, the native of Vienna took over the Munich team – he is confronted with new negative headlines practically every day. In addition to the sporting construction site, there have also been problems of a financial nature in recent weeks. The club had recently not submitted all the necessary evidence for subsequent licensing with the German Football Association and even filed for bankruptcy.
The Türkgücü powder keg also rubs off on the team: before leaving for the away game to Osnabrück, assistant coach Goran Djuricin and Ünal Tosun are said to have almost gotten into a fight. Whereupon head coach Heraf threw Tosun, René Vollath, Sebastian Maier and Filip Kusic out of the squad.
