The perpetrators, who were out and about in the Rohrbach district on the night of February 4th and probably also February 5th, are likely to be several boys with a car. They left their mark in at least ten different locations, including parking lots, intersections, and bus stops with spray cans. They defaced traffic signs, information signs, walls and bus shelters with swastikas, slogans and pictures.
On the Austrian side, the communities of Nebelberg, Pfarrkirchen im Mühlkreis, Neustift im Mühlkreis, Putzleinsdorf and Hörbich were affected. In the Bavarian border town of Wegscheid, graffiti was also found that could be assigned to the group. The Lembach police have started the investigation and are now asking witnesses who observed the incident or who can provide relevant information on the facts of the matter to call 059133-4255.
In the Salzkammergut, too, the executive asks for help from the population. Between February 3rd and 6th, two newly installed traffic signs along the B145 in Traunkirchen and Altmünster were made unrecognizable with paint. According to the police, the motive is likely to be displeasure with the changed legal regulations in the affected area.
