Church connoisseurs knew: this Benedictine Father, which is talented with a waking spirit and at the same time, is a steep career in Rome. But God and the convent of the Benedictine Abbey Kremsmünster, which Father Bernhard Eckerstorfer had elected as the new Abbot, thwarted the predicted career in the headquarters of the Catholic Church. The one who suffered the least was Bernhard Eckers-Torfer himself in his solemn inauguration, the Benediction, by Bishop Manfred Scheuer at the festival service in the collegiate church. After his return from Rome, where he worked as the rector of the papal Benedictine university Sant ‘Anselmo, he was particularly able to recognize “the wealth of our community, the good cooperation, the many talents and the dedication from the youngest to the oldest monk with more than 90 years”.
The church was full during the inauguration, the celebration was transferred to other rooms on screens and streamed on the Internet. All friends and companions had come from one-year Felicitas from his relatives to the 98-year-old Austrian-American Benedictine, hermit and spiritual teacher David Steindl-Rast. Former Chancellor Wolfgang Schüssel also sat in the stealing, who enjoyed his schooling at the Benedictines.
The Linz diocesan bishop Manfred Scheuer, who decreased the traditional five loyalty promise, infected the ring, put up the mittra and presented the book of the Benedictine rule and the crook of the shepherd, held a tailor -made sermon to the new monastery board. “Gottuche may be stronger than its own interests. The superintendent of the Evangelical Church in Upper Austria, Gerold Lehner, impressed the lifestyle of the Benedictine monks: “You stand across your life,” he said in terms of idolatry, fame and his own advantage in the world. Governor Thomas Stelzer praised the Benedictines that they repeatedly recognized, accompanied and promoted talents for the benefit of all people.
