The operation in the vaccination streets in the Reithoffer office building is currently more like an on-call service. The employees of the Red Cross and the magistrate have to wait for people who want to be vaccinated rather than for an appointment. Newcomers who come for their first injection are rare, even if immunization with the so-called “dead vaccine” Novavax is already possible.
The squirrel feeds itself with difficulty at the vaccination in the city. Almost three weeks ago, at the municipal council meeting, Mayor Markus Vogl (SP) announced a vaccination rate of 67 percent in the city’s population, who only need the booster for full protection. People who came here for the third stitch are also the majority of the insured who pull out their e-card for the free vaccination in the Reithoffer building. Now the statistic is 68.5 percent of the population who received at least the second stitch.
Vogl still cannot and does not want to be satisfied with the quota. In a letter to all Steyr citizens, written together with the City Councilor for Health and doctor Michael Schodermayr (SP), he thanks everyone who has already taken part in the vaccination. At the same time, all previous muffles are asked to pull themselves together and to be sensibly vaccinated.
