US Vice President’s husband escorted out of Washington D.C. school over bomb report

Douglas Emhoff, the wife of US Vice President Kamala Harris, was escorted from an event at a school in Washington on Tuesday, February 8, due to reports of a bomb planted in the building. It is reported by the Washington Times.

According to Emhoff’s aides, school officials informed the Secret Service, which is responsible for protecting top officials of the state, about the “threat to security.” The people in the building were evacuated.

It is clarified that the incident occurred at 14:34 U.S. East Coast time (22:34 Moscow time), it was about an explosion threat. A secret service agent from the security service approached the spouse of the vice president and whispered: “We need to go.”

According to preliminary information, no one was hurt.

The specified educational institution is located in the central part of the American capital. Earlier it was reported that Emhoff should visit this school.

Earlier, on November 7, the campuses of Columbia University and Cornell University, located in the state of New York, as well as the student residence of Brown University in Rhode Island, received an evacuation order due to the threat of explosions. A message about bombs allegedly planted on the territory of universities appeared on the social network. Information about planted explosive devices was not confirmed.
