Stolen number plates and no driver’s license: drug drivers reported

Shortly before 2 p.m., the young man was driving in his car with a Serbian friend of the same age from Linz on Haider Strasse, where the police routinely carried out driver and vehicle checks. When the officers wanted to stop the 27-year-old, he ignored the police officers’ hand signals and just kept driving.

During the subsequent search, it turned out that both license plates of the car were stolen. The two men were arrested a short time later. When the car was searched, the officers found another stolen license plate, and the 27-year-old driver also showed clear signs of an addictive disorder. However, he refused to be examined, which is why the vehicle key was taken away from him and he was forbidden to continue driving. The man no longer had a driver’s license anyway. This had already been taken away from him.

The man and his passenger are reported to the public prosecutor’s office in Linz and the BH Linz-Land.
