This is currently 32,677. More than 2,000 Covid patients continued to be treated in the hospitals, with their number (2,056) slightly decreasing by 16 people compared to the previous day. 185 Covid patients were looked after in the intensive care units – nine fewer than on Wednesday.
However, another 22 deaths were added within 24 hours. This means that Covid-19 has cost 150 lives in this country in the past week. In total, the Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 14,293 lives since it broke out. 160 people per 100,000 inhabitants have died from or with Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The seven-day incidence in Austria (new infections in the past week per 100,000 inhabitants, note) is currently 2,560.7. 345,603 active cases were confirmed on Wednesday, up 2,705 from the previous day. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been almost 2.15 million confirmed corona cases in Austria, and around 1.79 million people have recovered since then.
